The small village of Patacancha is known for its colorful high quality textiles and traditional Quechua lifestyle. Using wool from the alpaca with inks and dyes sourced from the local plants, they are able to produce these wonderfully bright eye-catching colors. The colors are especially noticeable among the otherwise drab high elevation environment. As descendants of the Incas they live almost entirely as they have for hundreds of years in this remote corner of the Sacred Valley.
