OAXACA, MEXICO - 2024

On a trip to Mexico with my fiancée, we drove out deep into the mountainous jungle of Oaxaca in search of pristine rivers and waterfalls. Following an old dirt road for hours in the torrential rain we weren’t exactly sure of where we were going. We stopped in each little village to ask the locals if we were on the right track and every time, we were assured that we didn’t have much further to go up the road. The road we were following became skinnier, steeper, and muddier as the rain continued to flood down from the mountains. Our car struggled to get up the steep sections and slid through the mud on the downhills. We thought about turning back several times…
